Mapping Functions

• Two common ones: Haldane and Kosambi

• Assuming no interference then Haldane is : M = -0.5 loge (1-2r)

and the inverse is: r = 0.5 (1-e(-2M))

• When r is small, r approximates M but for larger distances this isn’t true.
